Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James (Jim) Ferrino, 87, of Silver Creek, NY. Beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born in Buffalo, NY on March 13, 1938. He was pre-deceased by his parents Louis and Concetta Ferrino, and sister Mary (Robert) Russell. Jim grew up in Brant and was a long-time resident of Angola. He was a positive role model for his family with his great work ethic, always providing guidance and support for his girls. Jim was known for his wit and silly sense of humor and was a cherished family man. Retired from Bethlehem Steel after a long career as a pipefitter, Jim was not one to sit still. He was a “Jack of all trades” including being a Building & Grounds manager at People, Inc., also doing small construction, siding and painting work, and even a short stint as Angola dog warden. Jim was athletic: an avid golfer and member of Tri-County and Gowanda country clubs, played on many baseball and softball teams and bowling leagues. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Florence (Gawlak) Ferrino. Beloved father of Tamrah (Joseph) Quadrone, Deborah (John Trimm) Spittler, Susan (Jay) Schifano and Lynn (James) Clear. Brother of Antoinette Ferrino, Rose Marie (Tom) Newton. Grandfather of Carrie, Gina, Lori, Nicole, Kristen, Jimmy, Catie and Nick. Also survived by 9 Great Grandchildren. The family will be present to receive friends Tuesday from 3PM-7PM at the ADDISON FUNERAL HOME, INC. 262 N. Main St. Angola. A private family burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care.
