Of Angola, New York died August 29, 2007 in Buffalo General Hospital. Beloved husband of JoAnn (Knack) Hengerer; loving father of Roberta (Eric) Stein, Erica Haenggi, Robin (John) Igielinski, Sharlene Hawley, Robert (Kristine) Schiffman and David (Jennifer) Schiffman; brother of the late Carlton Hengerer and Betty Eiss; also survived by 17 grandchildren. No prior visitation, friends are invited to attend memorial services Sunday, September 9, at 10:00 AM in American Legion Post 928, 7353 Erie Road, Derby, NY. Mr. Hengerer was a member of American Legion Post 928 and VFW Post 5798 where he served as captain of the Color Guard for many years. Mr. Hengerer was retired from Buffalo State College where he was a professor of televison directing and producing.
