MUSCATO, Filomena A. “Phyllis”
(nee Ferrentino)
Of Brant, NY, entered into rest February 15, 2018, Age 86. Wife of the late Herman S. Muscato; dearest mother of Gary Muscato and Gail (Lee) Schwartz; loving grandmother of John Ward, Megan and Leanne Schwartz; sister of Patricia (Jim) Rich.
Phyllis and her husband Herman operated their family vegetable farm in Brant for 44 years they were the first vegetable farm in the area to offer “U-Pick” style buying, where customers were able to pick their own tomato’s and strawberries. Phyllis was well loved and respected throughout the towns of Brant and Evans serving her community in many capacities. She was a 61 year charter member of the Brant Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, Eucharistic Minister and member of the Altar and Rosary Society of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Brant, a Red Cross Volunteer, personally donating 18 gallons of blood, a bingo inspector for the Brant Volunteer Fire Co. and elections inspector for the Erie County Board of Elections. Phyllis also worked in the community as Deputy Town Clerk for the Town of Brant for many years, and held positions with Chiavetta’s Catering, Pero’s Restaurant and as cafeteria staff for Lake Shore Central Schools
Phyllis wore many hats and made her family proud with her accomplishments, her up beat, cheery personality and famous cheesecake will be sadly missed by all.
Family will be present to receive friends Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the ADDISON FUNERAL HOME INC. 262 N. Main St., Angola, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday at 10:30 AM in St. Anthony’s RC Church, Farnham, NY. Please assemble at church. Memorials may be made to the Farnham Vol. Fire Co. Rescue Squad, or American Heart Association.
