First of all many condolences to Deanna and the family and everyone who knew and loved Barry He will be surely missed.
I remember Barry and Deana as being two of the most caring people ever. They were so good to my mother Mabel Larkin when she was alive and she spoke of them both in the highest respect .Barry and my mom used to call each other twin as the were born on the same day. They all three had such a wonderful bond together it was special.
R.I.P. Barry there will never ever be another like you. The world would be such a beautiful place if there were.
Lots of love and sorrow Bonnie & Greg Patton

I have so many fond memories of Barry. Starting from our introduction by Joe Anderson in the 80s, I knew that Barry Snyder was a man among men.
As a political leader he was always active in thought, always ready to adopt new ideas, a true leader, confident to stand alone, possessed with the courage to make tough decisions and the compassion to listen to the needs of others.
In business he was a “founding father”, who, along with Smokin Joe, Moe John, Ross John and a few others, pioneered the new era of reservation based commerce that has helped raise the standard of living of many, set the stage for the establishment of casino gaming on Seneca territory, and helped make Seneca businesses - tribal and private - a force in the well being of the entire region.
Personally, I can look back on many trips to Washington D.C. with Barry, joined at times by Deanna and my wife, Margy, and once with our sons, both named Ryan, with whom we visited the sites...including FBI headquarters.
The golf trips to Kiawah, Hilton Head, Orlando and Scottsdale with Neville Spring, Brad Waterman and others always resulted in more than a few memorable and comedic moments.
More importantly, the many legal issues (and battles) that I participated in as a lawyer for Barry represent the highlights of my career. Barry was a great client, cautious and prudent but unafraid to “bet the farm” when the stakes were highest. The scorecard of his legal contests tips almost entirely on the side of victory.
It will remain forever one of the great privileges of my life to have been associated with Barry E. Snyder, Sr.
My heartfelt condolences are extended to his family.

Such a kind man ..gave me a pair of tickets to a concert at the Niagara Falls Casino when I worked in Irving. Told him my sister and I were going to have a night at the casino and without hesitation handed me two tickets and said “Enjoy the evening on me “ so very sorry for his passing ,but no doubt in the arms of the angels. You & The Boss have had a profound impact on our lives from the day we first met, and it has been an honor to have worked for you throughout the years. While there are so many fond memories, I will share only one of the many indelible moments in which I will forever feel your passion when you would recite: “A PRAYER FOR TODAY – This is the beginning of a new day. God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it – or use it for good, but what I do today is important, because I am exchanging a day of my life for it! When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving in its place something that I have traded for it. I want it to be gain, and not loss; good and not evil; success, and not failure; in order that I shall not regret the price I have paid for it. ~Author Unknown~” Sincere condolences and prayers to The Boss & your children. May you Rest in Peace for all of Eternity.

The volunteers at the Burchfield Nature and Art Center send condolences to family and friends. Mr. Snyder helped bring the history and culture of the Seneca Nation to West Seneca. It was an honor having him at the BNAC Center for the Buffalo Creek Treaty Commemoration Ceremonies. We have fond memories of him taking the time to engage with children at the event.

Such a generous and extraordinary man. I worked for Barry at the "Hawk" for several years when i finished college; he took a chance on me and hired me in the office. He was very fair and listened to his employees to better the business and inspired them to better themselves. He used to call me "4 Bucks".... when I would research buying new equipment or computer programs he would kid me that I was a smart bargain hunter.... at the time there was a commercial on tv at pizza hut you could get "a 2nd pizza for 4 bucks" (what a deal he would say lol).... so he would say if we needed to buy anything to "ask 4 bucks to see whats out there" ahahahhahah :) Many happy memories working with him and the entire family; many fun get togethers and holidays as well. Barry helped so many more people than everyone knows-- he will be missed greatly.
