My name is Joel. I grew up down the street from Lonny when I was a kid. I remember as a kid I used to wait for him to ride up on his Chopper after he returned from Vietnam. He was a quiet man and stayed to himself. I remember how he used to work the garden with his dad. They loved to fish together. As a grew up I used to stop and say hi to him. One day I was on my dirt bike and he asked if he could ride it. He jumped on that bike, kick started it and took off. Boy he could ride. Back in the late 80’s and early 90’s I still would stop and visit with him when I was in town visiting. He always remembered me. One day he called me over. He said, “you have a couple boys now don’t you”? I said yes. He took me back to the old chicken coup out back. He reached above the door and took down an old dusty 22 cal rifle. He handed to me and said keep this for your sons. Teach them how to shoot. I did exactly that. Both my boys learned how to shoot using that rifle. I still have it to this very day. I have many fond memories of the good ole days. And Lonny is one of those memories. May God bless him and all of family and friends grieving his passing.

May God give you strength going forward, Lulu. May God lay a healing hand upon his children and step children as well. Lonny was a quiet reserved fellow. I have fond memories of spending time with both he and Wayne while staying with Aunt Myrtle and Uncle Clif. I so loved those times spent in Derby. Lonny is being greeted by those who passed before him. He is free from pain and is flying high. He earned his wings. Hugs to all who know him and loved him.
