Katherine D. Pizzolanti (nee Vara), formerly of Farnham, NY, died Sunday December 19, 2010 in her Derby, NY home, she was 92. Beloved wife of the late Michael F. Pizzolanti;loving mother of Janice(David) Michalski of Dunkirk, NY and Michelle(Ronald) Schifano of Angola, NY. Sister of the late Horace,Joseph,Charles Vara,Lena McGee and Janet Saletta. Grandmother of Michael Michalski,Liza Wells and Vincenzo Schifano;great grandmother Marissa Michalski,Christian Michalski,Zoe Wells and Dylan Calabrese. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. No prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 29,2010 at 10:00AM, in St. Anthony's Church, Farnham, NY. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Farnham, NY.
Katherine was the Owner and operator of Pizzolanti's Farnham Hotel, where she started working when she was 25. She became the sole proprietor in 1969, and ran the restaurant until retiring in 2004.
