Smardz Sr., Thomas M. Bishop
Of Hamburg, NY, entered into rest April 13, 2023. Beloved husband of Shirley A. Smardz. Loving and devoted father of Tommy Jr. (Traci) Smardz. Loving and devoted father of Kevin Smardz. Loving son of the late Matthew (Sophia) Smardz. Dear brother of Rita (Paul) Hawkins and Terry (late Bob) Kalman. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Emilee, Eric, and Joseph. He is also survived by many extended family and friends. Tom served on the Buffalo Police force for 20 years and retired serving as an officer in the motorcycle division. He then went into fulltime ministry founding and pastoring Southtowns Christian Center for 35 years. Tom loved to go boating and fishing on the Niagara River with family and friends. Boating was a part of his life and he believed there could never be a bad day spent on the water.
Relatives and friends may visit ADDISON FUNERAL HOME, INC. 262 N. Main St. Angola on Wednesday, April 19 from 3-7PM. A Christian celebration of life service will be held at Southtowns Christian Center 6619 Southwestern Blvd. Lake View, on Thursday morning, April 20 at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bishop Tom’s name to Southtowns Christian Center where he was the founding Pastor and Bishop of the church.
