HOLLAND – Vincent “Vince” E.
Of Fort Pierce, FL. and Long Beach, Ontario, formerly of East Aurora, NY, passed peacefully June 14th, 2023, surrounded by family. The beloved husband of Barbara A. (nee Klein). dearest father of Michael (Nancy) Holland, Julie Holland, Susan (late Roger) Kowerko, William (Elizabeth) Holland, James (Valerie) Holland, Robert (Stephanie) Holland, and Timothy (Linda) Holland; loving grandfather to 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Buffalo, NY in 1930 to William and Loretta (Leahy) Holland. Vincent grew up with one adoring sister, the late Loretta Patterson and three brothers, the late James Holland, the late William Holland and the late John Holland. Vince graduated from Lafayette High school and the University of Buffalo, where he met Barbara, his revered wife of 67 years. US Army Vet serving in Germany during the Korean War. His professional career began at Westinghouse & GE. A passionate Restaurateur (Roycroft Inn, Aurora Lanes, Bath Hotel, and long-time restaurant consultant to 100 restaurants throughout Southeast Florida). Vince’s happiest times were those spent with Barbara, and he cherished every moment surrounded by his children and grandchildren, who often called him “The Pooh”. Vince was an enviable optimist; an avid reader always continuing to learn and embrace new experiences. He enjoyed travelling to China, Hawaii and many European countries. Vince was the patriarch, the one everyone went to for advice. He was an incredible listener who will always be remembered for his enduring support and love. He taught us all that life was about the people you surround yourself with and he prioritized developing special relationships with everyone that ever knew him. A masterful writer and loquacious singer and storyteller who was active in the community enjoying time with special friends. He particularly loved playing golf with his sons and returning home to be with his treasured Barbara and precious daughters. Vince will be painfully missed and forever remembered by the numerous lives he has touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Vince’s life on THURSDAY JULY 6, 2023, from 4:30 PM -6:30 PM at the Roycroft Inn, 40 S. Grove St. East Aurora, NY 14052. The Holland family would like to extend a very special thanks to the nurses and staff at Hospice Buffalo, for the exceptional care provided.
