Leonard K. Pero

November 6, 1948 – December 25, 2023

Life long resident of Brant NY entered into rest December 25, 2023 at age 75. Leonard is the loving father of Amanda (Aric) West, Grandfather of Avia, Aric Jr and Aydyn West; brother of Diane (Late Samuel) Chiavetta, Peter (Late Lucille) Pero and the late David (Marjorie) Pero, uncle to his many beloved nieces and nephews; son of the late Peter and Angela (Ganci) Pero.

Leonard was not only a lifelong resident but a proud advocate of the Brant community. He was active in his family’s farming business, Pero Family Farms and was instrumental in the operation of Pete Pero’s Steakhouse. His presence was larger than life in the community where he served as former Brant Town Supervisor, Police Commissioner and as a member of the Brant Vol. Fire Department and was awarded the honor of “Citizen of the Year.” Leonard was also an Author, Radio D.J., and an active and proud member of Parish of Our Lady Church as well as being very instrumental in keeping the church present in Brant. He was passionate about sports, particularly Track, Field, and Football. Leonard was inducted into the Lake Shore Central Schools Wall of Fame for his exemplary athletic abilities and later in life coached for the Erie Community College “Kats” football team. As passionate as Leonard was about his beloved Brant Community he was most passionate about his family. He was a loving and wonderful father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Family will be present to receive friends on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 3 – 7 PM at the ADDISON FUNERAL HOME INC. 262 Main Street, Angola, NY where prayers will be said Saturday, December 30, at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Parish of Our Lady Church, Brant NY
