Joan A. Mohawk, 80, of the Chautauqua County Home, passed away, Sunday (March 6, 2011) with family by her side.
Joan was born in Buffalo, NY, on June 14, 1930, to Carlisle and Mildred Chavel.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, first husband Gerald Lesinski and second husband Clifford Mohawk.
Joan graduated from South Park High School in 1947 and attended her 63rd class reunion in August 2010.
Joan was employed by Liberty Bank, Blue Seal bakery and Mobil Corporation.
Joan raised three children while living in West Seneca, NY. Later after moving to Sheridan, NY she enjoyed gardening,
Macrame and traveling.
After suffering a stroke in 2001 Joan made her residence at the County Home. At the home she involved herself in many
activities, assembling dozens of jigsaw puzzles, designing and printing her own greeting cards for friends and family and
E-mailing on her computer.
Survivors include her sister, Sue Boland of St.Thomas,USVI, sons Douglas (Bonnie) Lesinski of Silver Creek,NY, Gerald (Irene Acosta) Lesinski of Austin,TX, daughter Kathy (Robert) Berek of Silver Creek,NY
Grandchildren Jennifer Smith (Jeff Salerno), Eric (Sara) Botticello, Geoffrey (Cathy) Lesinski, John (Amber) Long,
Kevin (Anna) Long, Kerry (Daniel) Sek, Ryan Long
12 great grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.
Any memorial contributions are suggested to the Chautauqua County Home auxiliary and the National Stroke Association
