My Aunt Ruthie,
She was always joyful and welcoming when the Benker kids came to visit for a BBQ. I remember how close she was to my mother and how they were good sisters to one another. All of the phone calls they shared "pre the cell phone era" and how they cared for our grandmother. Her voice was unique. I can hear her voice in my memories and see her smile. We can remember her as vibrant rather than what dementia can rob from a person. Both of our moms had dementia and it robbed them of so much. She is with the Evelt family now. Rest in peace Aunt Ruth. With love. And condolences for my cousins that took such good care of her. Thank you Lynn, Tom, and Rob.
