Richard L. Carlson "The Mayor", died Monday November 14, 2011 in his Angola home, he was 77. Beloved husband of Barbara(Hagreen)Carlson; loving father of David(Theresa)Carlson, Laurie(William)Ludwig, Karen(John)Haberer and James(Michelle)Carlson. Cherished grandfather of Nicole,Brooke,Emily,Allison,Jessica,Melissa,Danielle,Kristen,Jerrica,Meagan,Jennifer,Eric and Drew. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8PM and Friday from 1-3PM and 6-8PM at the ADDISON FUNERAL HOME, INC. 262 N. Main St. Angola. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10AM in the First Church of Evans, Derby, NY(Rt.5 at Sturgeon Point Road). Pastor Steve Ridge,officiating. Mr. Carlson was the Past Mayor of the Village of Angola from 1984-1993. Prior to that he served as a Village Trustee from 1973-1984. He was Past President of the Angola Volunteer Fire Department, where he served over 50 years of service. He was also the Past Commander of the American Legion Newcomb Long Post 928. He served on the USS Plymouth Rock, while serving in the United States Navy. He retired from the South Buffalo Rail Road in 1993. In lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo, Inc. Interment services with Military Honors will follow funeral services, in Forest Avenue Cemetery, Angola, NY.
