Last year, our son was a Freshman. One day we arrived home & checked messages on our answering machine. One played from our son's Freshman Teacher. He had called to say what a wonderful son we had. How well he was doing in class & how well mannered he was. His name was Mr Kwilos. We had not met him before & to say we were so touched by this Teachers kindness-In taking the time to phone our home & speak so well of our son would be an under statement! We later met him at Open House & applauded his kindness. He later became a true, caring teacher of our son's education & we feel truly honored to have met him. One of Lake Shore's Finest Teachers! ...Someone that special for sure has earned their right to be in Heaven. "God Bless" Mr Kwilos R.I.P. Always xo Our Deepest Sympathy goes out to his extended family. May you be surrounded by God's love. In our prayers, Jim & Julie Mikolajczak & family

As Jim's student teacher from October until December this past year, I was fortunate to not only allow students to learn from me but to learn myself from one of the greatest teachers of all. It's hard to put into words the amazing man I was fortunate to work side by side with for 2 months and to speak of what he meant to Lake Shore. He loved his job, he loved his students and he did all he could to show them how much he cared. He truly was involved and interested in their lives and what his students believed in and stood for. He mentored his students and everyday there was always someone from past years in the class to visit and to say Hi and you could instantly see the influence he had. He always stood outside of the door to be the first one to say hi to the kids in the morning and he pushed them to be tehir best. I'm not sure if I can put into words the respect that I have for this man or the influence that he has had on my life because I am a better person for having known him and a better teacher because I learned and was influenced by him. He always put forth his best and pushed me to be mine and I will take his teachings with me throughout my career. You may never know the impact you have on the lives of others and Jim truly did impact every life around him, his students his co workers, his friends and his family and we are all better for having known him. I am so sorry for his loss and for his family who I can only send my deepest sympathies, but also my gratitude for having shared him with the rest of us. To his children, he loved the three of you more than anything and he was so extremely proud of who you are and every accomplishment that you had. Your pictures were always hung up and displayed in the room and I heard stories of you everydayof skating or of the things your dad was building for you. He loved you more than anything and that will never stop.

Mr Kwilos is my Global 9 teacher this year. From the beginning of the year I really enjoyed going to his class and saying Good Morning to him every morning. I looked forward to going to his class and I can't imagine what Monday will be like without this great man. At the candle light vigil which was held at LS Senior High School there was a great turn out to help celebrate the life of Mr Kwilos. He pushed me to do my best and Thanks to Him I scored 90% and higher last quarter and have the highest grade in the class now. Mr Kwilos had a positive impact on my life. By listening to everyone's memorys at the vigil, I can tell that he had a postive impact on other student's lives. He will always live in my heart and I will truley miss him. My Prayers and Thoughts are going to His wife Nicole and his children during this difficult time. Rest in Peace James J. Kwilos
