Braun, Jerome N. Of Angola, NY, Entered into rest March 22, 2012 in Buffalo Mercy Hospital. George is the Son of the late George A. Braun and Mary A. (Hennessy); Dearest brother of Msgr. Francis Braun, Rev. John J. Braun M.A., late Mary Ann Anderson (Robert), late Jo Ann Crittenden (William), and Paul J. Braun; Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends from 2:00pm - 5:00pm on Sunday, March 25 at Addison Funeral Home, 262 North Main St., Angola NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30am on Monday, March 26 at St. Anthony Church, 417 Commercial St., Farnham, NY .Please assemble at church. Interment services and military honors will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Rt. 5 Farnham, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo or SPCA of Erie County. Mr. Braun worked at the Mansard Inn, Orchard Park, NY where he served as chef for many years. . Jerome attended St. James Grammar School, and Bishop Fallon High School. He joined the US Navy in 1956, attended the U.S. Navy Supply School in Newport Rhode Island and served as a cook on various ships, most notably on the Fletcher Class Destroyers USS Remey and USS Gatling. He graduated from Erie County Technical Institute (Now ECC), then located at the former Pierce Arrow factory, with an associate degree in applied science food service administration. He attended the National Baking School in Chicago Illinois and was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America which was then located in Connecticut, concentrating in gourmet foods and specialty baking. Over the years, he worked as a cook at the Statler Hilton Hotel in Buffalo, St. Mary's School for the Deaf, D'Youville College, The Sheraton East Hotel in Cheektowaga and was the night chef at the Holiday Inn in New Haven, Connecticut. Jerome was a chef at the Mansard Inn in Orchard Park from it's opening in 1974 until his retirement 30 years later, having co-authored the menu that remains largely intact to this day. Jerome belonged to several fraternal organizations, not the least of which included Confrerre De La Chaine Des Rotisseurs and Les Amis Du Vin.
