Obituary of Russell Emerson

Russell B. Emerson, of Angola, NY died Sunday October 11, 2009 in Lake Shore Hospital, he was 61. Beloved husband of Susan( nee Gardner );dearest father of Jesse Emerson and Jan (Mark) Pielechowski; son of Elizabeth (late Russell) Emerson;brother of Judy(Bill) Patterson, Linda (Drew) DeGroat and Joel (Kathy) Emerson; son-in-law of Amelia Manguso. Brother-in-law of Gwen (Gary) Mueller, Sharon(Jim) Cocina, Pat(David) Kuckkowski, Rick(Lucy) Manguso and Russ (Kathy) Manguso. Also survived by his grandchildren, Amanda,Dylan,Kaitlyn, Daryan, Hunter, Emily, Logan, Jenna and Adrianna. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at the Addison Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11AM. Pastor Jack Bacon, Officiating. Russ served in Vietnam from 1968-1971. He was a decorated Green Beret, who was a Radio Teletype Operator for missions. He was Past Commander of American Legion Post 928, Derby, NY also a member Of Veterans of Foreighn Wars Post 5798, Angola, NY. Russ also worked at Bethlehem Steel from 1971-1977. He then went to work at the Ford Plant, And finally for Niagara Mohawk(NRG) from 1980-2008. He started as a welder and retired as a safety coordinator in which he took much pride in keeping his fellow employees safe. He belonged to the IBEW 1339. Russ is also the co-owner of Rosebrook Golf Course in Irving, NY.
