Of Angola, NY, Entered into rest at home, surrounded by family and friends, August 3, 2012, He was 68; Loving husband of Dorothy Merecki. Father of Vincent (Wendy) Merecki, Shana (Kevin) Merecki, Walter Jr. (Rachel) Merecki, Ruth Ann (Billy) Kuhn's. "Pops" to Peggy LaBarge, Rose (Gregory) Salisbury, Holly (William) Bateman, Richard Ruppert. Step father of Joseph (Jen) Liberatere, Geoffrey Liberatere, Amanda (Joe) Liberatere, and Nicholas Liberatere. Predeceased by his parents John and Lena Merecki. Brother of John (Faye) and Joe (Karen) Merecki. Also survived by 28 grand children, 13 great grand children many nieces, nephews, adopted kids and best friends Greg (Alie) Lee and Mary Jordan who will miss his quick wit and loving compassion.
Wally was an avid hunter and fisherman and a lifetime member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 64, South Buffalo, NY. He will always be remembered for his humor and compassion for others and his love of life. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Addison Funeral Home Inc. 262 Main St. Angola, NY. Where Prayers will be said Tuesday at 9:45 AM Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Anthony's Church, Farnham, NY Interment services and Military Honors will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Farnham, NY. Flowers gratefully declined.
