English, James P. Of Hamburg, NY, passed away in Buffalo Mercy Hospital, Thursday August 8, 2013, he was 83. Beloved husband of Jean English. Loving father of Carol (late Ed) Caputi, Susan Trias, Terrance English, Carl (Elaine) English, Judy (Luis Alvarez) English and Patricia (Russell) Chisholm; brother of Joan M. English. Grandfather of Chris Caputi, Jason, Ryan, Tania Trias, Patrick, Jenna, Anthony, James, Sara English, Max, Ally Alvarez, Russell N., and Erin Chisholm. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00AM in the Southtowns Christian Center, 6619 Southwestern Blvd., Hamburg, NY. Jim was the founder and director of the Claddagh Commission. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either the Claddagh Commission or Alzheimer's Association in Jim's memory. Arrangements by the ADDISON FUNERAL HOME, INC. , Angola, NY. Share your condolences at addisonfuneralhome.com Born February 2, 1930 in Buffalo New York to Carlton and Loretta English. He attended Blessed Sacrament grade school and Kenmore High School. Jim's business career included Ace Industrial, Inc. based in Cheektowaga, The Abbey Tavern Restaurant in Clarence, and The Dublin House Irish Imports in Clarence. In 1978 Jim founded Claddagh Commission. Later, joined by his wife Jean C. English, they worked side by side to establish what is now known as one of the premier community integrated residence for intellectually delayed adults in Western New York and one of the largest employers in the town of Evans. In 1983 he was awarded "Outstanding Citizen of the Year" by the Evans-Brant Chamber of Commerce for organizing and developing an out-reach program for those in need called Operation Good Neighbor. Jim's successes in business lead him to become a volunteer with Service Corps of Retired Executives through the Small Business Administration (SCORE), where he mentored other business owners and executives. He enjoyed reading, boating, traveling, golf, buying and selling real estate, cars, football but most of all he enjoyed his family.
