Obituary of Jacqueline Vaughn

Jacqueline Vaughn (nee Dell) of Springville, NY, passed away Wednesday October 29, 2014 in the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home of Springville, she was 86. Jackie was born December 16, 1927 to George and Valerie Dell in Buffalo, NY, and was a Springville resident for over 60 years. Jackie is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John C. Vaughn, her children and spouses: Kimberlie and Andrew Brayman, John Duncan Vaughn and Sandy Pearson, Margarethe and Robert Lenz, Holt and Marietta Vaughn, and Charles and Anna Vaughn. She leaves 10 grandchildren, brother Peter, and sisters Marcia, Valerie and Lois and many loved nieces and nephews. As a young woman, Jackie loved ice skating and tap dancing as well as singing at public affairs. She was a Miss New York State contestant. While a wife and mother of five, Jackie was active in the Community Musicals, the Springville Center for the Arts in its inception as a visual artist, and the American Red Cross Blood Bank. She was a talented artist and musician and was soon to be a published author/illustrator of a children's book. Friends may call Sunday from 1-3PM and 5-7PM, at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, Inc. 271 E. Main St., Springville, NY where services will be held Monday at a time 10:30 AM.
