I am deeply sadden by the passing of a friend of mine. Bill and I were hallmates at Fretz and we shared many many fond moments. Bill would use my windows to start his seeds to plant in the spring. He was so caring to water and fertilize and also shared the plants with many of his co-workers. He built me a bird house which is still used by the birds on Hedgehog Lane and an occasional bear visits. Bill was the first person to help me out when I arrived at Fretz. We shared wildlife stories, hunting and fishing stories. Bill was always sending me articles that would help me as an educator. I have missed Bill in the hall and his wit and humor. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet and work with Bill. He inspired as a teacher and most of all he inspired his students. He will be surely be missed by me and all the Fretz family.

Bill was a great person, friend, and collegue. Although I only knew him for a few years, he was a person I could rely on to make me appreciate the little things inside and outside of the school day. Bill was an amazing person and will be missed greatly.

Robin, Sara and Monica...we were very sorry about the passing of Bill....Although we didn't know him personally, I know he was a good family man and a great Umpah to Kimmy...I remember a day of waiting in a hospital waiting room when Kimmy was born...we were all crowded near a door close to Sara's room and when he heard the baby's first cry, he got the biggest grin on his face and hugged everyone!...I know he will be greatly missed by all...our prayers are with you.

It saddens me to hear of Bill's passing. He was a caring teacher. Students with mental and physical disabilites were given the extra attention and support they needed As a family man, he spoke with great admiration of Robin's, Sara's, and Monica's accomplishments. Bill also had a great appreciation for the outdoors. I will miss his enthusiasm in his storytelling.

My thoughts are with you all. Please remember the good times with Bill and how much he meant to you. I have only known him for a short time but found him to be caring and loving for his family. When Sara was in labor with Kimmy, he couldn't stand to hear her in pain. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask.

Robin, Monica, & Sara, I am saddened to learn of Bill's passing. Years ago we had many good times at School St. Some of his hunting stories will never be forgotten. He was a good guy and a conscientious educator. Our paths have not crossed for awhile, but I think of him fondly. Too soon, too soon . . . Rick Lutz

Pat, Sandy and family- Praying that God will give you peace and comfort as you are going through this time of losing Bill. I have enjoyed the pictures you posted showing the great times you all had together at the camp- treasure those memories and cherish the good times. It is nice you will be at First Church of Evans- it is such a wonderful peaceful place and Pastor Steve is awesome. He did Dad's , gram's & Uncle Glen's (Serena) funerals. Wish I could be there to give you hugs, dear friends, but sending you lots of love. God bless you all as you celebrate the life of your brother, Bill.

Robin, Sara, & Monica -- We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bill and extend our sympathy to you. Tim and Bill had so much to talk about with their love of the outdoors and hunting. Ryan will cherish the coonskin cap that Bill gave him and will someday share the story with Kimberlee of how wonderful her "Umpah" was. I will forever remember that Thanksgiving Day when we were all together when Sara said the blessing and told us that she was expecting. I think Bill was speechless! Please let us know if we can do anything to help you through this difficult time. Our prayers are certainly with you.

Mr. Beers was a wonderful teacher. I had him for 8th grade typing at Fretz in 1988. He made every day fun. I will never forget his humor and how he was aways willing to help if you had a problem with your work. He was one of those teachers you never forget and he truly made a difference in our lives. He will be missed greatly.

Robin, Sara, and Monica~ I was very sorry to hear about Bill's passing. We worked together for 10 years at Fretz, and he was always kind and thoughtful. He went out of his way to be helpful. He would send me interesting Science things all the time..things that he saw or read and thought I could use with my classes. He loved the outdoors and Science. Some of my fondest memories of Bill (and Steve) come from the hunting and fishing tales that I used to hear. Bill, Steve McElwee, and John Marsh would sit in Steve's room after school telling tales of their outdoor adventures. They never failed to make me laugh. I really miss them and hearing those stories..... I am extremely sorry for you loss. I lost my father very unexpectedly in August, so I can truly empathize with what you are going through. I hope the love and support of your family and friends will help bring you comfort. I hope that your memories will help bring you peace. With Sincere Sympathy ~ Jodell Barner
