Juan "John" Santiago of Hamburg, NY formerly of Brant, NY, died Friday February 26, 2010 at home, surrounded by his loving children and grandchildren, he was 87. Born to Rosalia Rivera and Tomas Santiago, in Aibonito Puerto Rico. Mr. Santiago was a decorated WWII and Korean War Veteran earning a Purple Heart, WWII Victory Medal, 5 Over seas Bars and the American Theatre Service Medal. He made his home in Brant, NY, where he built his business, as a farmer and store owner. Many will remember his Fruit and Vegetable stand at the intersection's of Rts. 5 and 20, on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation, which he ran for over 25 years. He is survived by his beloved children Frank (Ruthie) Santiago, Linda (David) Brogan, Juan (Jennifer) Santiago, Norma, Edna, Raul, Israel Santiago and the late Jose Santiago. Loving grandfather of Michael and Nicholas Brogan, Little Juan Santiago, Joshua Johnson, Nicole and Mina Santiago. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at the Addison Funeral Home, Inc. where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00AM. Rev. Gary Johnson, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Brant, NY.
