Scott was our neighbor and I always enjoyed our conversations. We mostly stopped and talked on the street, a moment here and there. He was always hilarious and detailed in his interests- we really started talking when he was collecting mushrooms. Mushroom weren’t just about cooking, but stories about his grandmother, father, and legendary finds. We talked about Vesta, and because we have dogs, the last time we talked we made a deal to go to the Evans Dog Run together.
We were on the street again, the pick-up running, a bleeding heart plant in the back for his Dad’s house. He was working on making it good for his Dad to be home. Even though he was on the way to visit a friend, he showed me his photo album of some amazing moments he captured- animals and plants, and people… What a great man- a sweetheart who had compassion and appreciation for the world in every moment. Legendary talks in the quick moments of sometimes just saying hello. We will miss him.
