Uncle Ray you touched all of our hearts more than you will ever know!! Your bigger than life personality, your passion for nature/outdoors and the lives you touched with that famous Ray Marx wisdom both on the radio and in the classroom will never be forgotten. Know that you left a legacy that will live on forever. You fought hard, it's now time to rest my dear uncle and friend. May God great you with open arms!!

I knew Ray for close to 50 years. I was one of the original members of the local chapter of the Adirondack Mountain club that he started in 1971. Many years of close friendship passed too quickly as we hiked, camped, skied and fished and enjoyed social activities with the club and otherwise. In later years our paths diverged a bit, but I always maintained contact with Ray and his wonderful wife Barb. He will be sorely missed.

Ray will be missed by so many people. I have known Ray since joining PHWFF and he was bot a mentor and a source of support to me when I first stared as a program lead and later became a regional coordinator. He was always available, ready and willing to offer his guidance and knowledge to help establish the program in NYC. His compassion and wonderful smile will be remembered by us all.

I will most definitely miss Ray. He has been a long time supporter and volunteer with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing having most notably served for several years as the Regional Coordinator for the Western NY/PA region. I personally can say that his enthusiasm and dedication to serving wounded and disabled veterans through Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing definitely made a lasting impression on me and is something that I will always remember him by. My deepest sympathies go out to his family.

I first met Raymond 8 years ago when he helped the God's Country Chapter of Trout Unlimited, of which I am president, get started with a Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing event in the deep woods of northcentral PA. I will always cherish an afternoon of guiding Raymond...we actually just shared a rod, on the Brownie Beat on Big Moore's Run on the last event he was able to make the trip down to PA. His leadership, good humor, kindness and compassion for his fellow man and particularly for disabled veterans is something we should all attempt to emulate. I will miss Raymond, but always remember his good fight for his own health and those he loved. I am proud to have been able to call you my friend.

Barbara, please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of Ray. Ray hired me for my first radio job in Buffalo at WGR back in 1995 when he was news director and was a great mentor to me. I'm confident I would not be where I am career-wise had it not been for Ray's help and guidance. I know Ray is in a much better place now after battling leukemia. God bless you and your family. And God bless Ray. Respectfully, Chris Brown

I am so very sorry to learn of Ray's passing. He was a caring and kind-hearted man who help me to get involved with PHW, to the point where I eventually became the Eastern Coordinator for the program. If not for Ray's patience, guidance and experience with all he had done for the program, I would not have been able to help it achieve the successes it had, let alone be a saving grace for so many of our wounded veterans. We have all lost a great man in life's final battle. Rest well old friend. Save us a place along a gentle stream, and don't catch all of those fish. Sincerely, Fred Kuepper
