Husband �of� the late Christine (Krull) Carbeck;Loving Father of� Thomas Carbeck and Jill (Barry) Gilson; Brother of the Late Louise (Frederick) Case, Arthur J. Carbeck and C. Lynn Carbeck; Brother in Law of the Late George and Louise Lemmler; Devoted Uncle of Joan (Edward) Lemmler-Will, Edward (Norma) Carbeck and David (Judy) Carbeck;Devoted Great uncle of Katherine May Carbeck
Born and raised in Farnham, NY and life long resident of the area.
Mr. Carbeck served in the US NAVY during WW II in the Pacific theater.� He was employed by Ford Motor Co. for 23 years and was a foreman in the Welder Repair Division until his retirement in 1974.
Mr. Carbeck served as Mayor of the Village of Angola for ten years from 1963 to 1973 and as village trustee for an additional 5 years; he also served as president of the Erie County Village Officials Association for two terms.
In 1982 Mr. Carbeck was honored with the Evans Brant Chamber of Commerce "Outstanding Citizen Award" and in 1983 was honored by the Village of Angola with the "Village of Angola Humanitarian Award" Both awards were in recognition of his many years of outstanding service to his community.
�Mr. Carbeck was a member of the Holy cross Lutheran Church, Farnham, NY, where he served on the church council for over 30 years and was an active member of the church based Lake Shore Cluster Pantry for over 20 years; he was an active member of the board of directors for �two local cemeteries, the Holy Cross Lutheran Church Cemetery and Brant Cemetery Association. Other Board of Directors positions held by Mr. Carbeck included the Erie County Sewer Authority, Steepleview Housing Committee and Ball Hill Scout Camp. Mr. Carbeck was also associated with Troop 528 Boy Scouts of America for 37 years serving as committeeman and merit badge counselor; member of Newcomb - Long Post 928 American Legion and Evans Township Post 5798 VFW
�Family will be present to receive friends Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 1 - 5 PM and 7-9 PM at the Addison Funeral Home Inc. 262 Main Street, Angola, NY. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 14, at 10:30 AM in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Church St. Farnham, NY. Interment will follow in Brant Cemetery, Brant, NY In lieu of Flowers memorials may be made in Mr. Carbeck's name to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church Pastoral Fund.�
