May I express my deep sympathy to an old friend (through my mom, Alice L. Read-Blank, who knew Mary and spoke so highly of her.) Mary played for my mom's wedding at the First Congregational Church and the two of them were very good friends through growing up in Angola. (My mom died in 1993.) I remember meeting Mary in my younger years and apparently - her playing and talent rubbed off on me as I grew up and received a Bachelor and Master's degree in music with organ as my major. Now I live in Syracuse, NY, and am a church organist & director of music for just over 42 years. I shall cherish Mary's lovely smile and remember her memory as I sit on the organ bench this weekend and play my prelude for Church. Rest in Peace Mary. With Sincere Sympathy to her friends & family, Bonnie Beth (Blank) Derby

Dear Jim and Dick, Your mom was my piano teacher when I was in Junior High at LSC. To this day I can't carry a tune or play a piano, yet she never gave up on me till I decided to not continure lessons. She was a beautiful person and always had a smile that made you feel relaxed. Many of my friends attended the First Congregational Church and I knew your mom through the years. Pauline Carlson's apartment was right next door to your mom. When I'd stopped by to visit Pauline, on occasion would get to chat with your mom too. My deepest sympathy is with you at this difficult time. She was a special lady and will be missed by many. God Blessings to you and your families. Caryl McCaffrey - Hamburg, NY

Jim & Dick, and families, Lynn and I will always remember our last visit with Mary. I'm not sure that she actually knew who we were, but she was still able to recall her music, and she proceeded to play beautifully, song after song. She was truly a really great lady. Our love to you all.

My mother, Jean Rose, knew Mary for many years. My dad, Herb Rose, played with Mary in the Angolians dance band. They were friends for many, many years. Mary sure lived a long and respected life. We visited Mary on a few occasions in the past 3 years and she remembered and reminisced about those days. We always hoped we left each visit with nice memories in her mind. We offer our condolence - I'm sure she will be missed, but now the Angolians are all together and are having fun making beautiful music together again.
